WE’RE EVOLVING
AltonWorks is a storytelling and civic engagement platform dedicated to celebrating Alton, Illinois, and the people and places that make it special. A charming riverfront town just 30 minutes from St. Louis.
Historic. Creative. Independent. Soulful. Delightfully strange.
TELLING THE STORIES OF ALTON
The small businesses. The artists and makers. The entrepreneurs. The community leaders. The people who call Alton home.
Through original content, social media and events, AltonWorks tells the stories of the people and places that give Alton its character, from Downtown and the riverfront to its business districts and neighborhoods.
Only in Alton. A beautiful riverfront. Historic architecture. Independent shops, restaurants and businesses. Arts and culture. Parks, trails and the Great Rivers. And the people, places, and traditions that make Alton unmistakably its own.
KEEPING THE CONVERSATION OPEN
AltonWorks will continue to host events, programs and opportunities for civic conversation.
These efforts will share information, create opportunities to listen and maintain an open dialogue with the people who live, work and do business in Alton.
More is coming in 2026. We look forward to sharing more about this change in the months that follow.
